Victorville (Desert Mountain Region)

VCSS Victorville is located in the High Desert County Region of San Bernardino County, the largest County in the continental United States.

The High Desert, at the heart of the County, provides main transportation arteries easily connecting beach, desert and mountain cities such as Las Vegas, San Diego, Big Bear, and Phoenix, as well as everywhere in between. Within an easy commute to all recreational activities, the High Desert is one of the few areas in California that still boasts of clean air, country living, and affordable housing.

At VCSS Victorville we provide many programs for children and families including Transition Age Youth (TAY) and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS).

Transition Age Youth (TAY)

Transition Age Youth are a population getting ready to move into adulthood. At Victor we have specialized programs to help this group successfully make the transition to adulthood and in many cases independence, and we work to equip them with the skills they need to be as highly functioning as they can be.

At Victor we provide a coordinated and comprehensive array of services for TAY clients and allow them to selectively utilize services needed to maximize their individual potential (Resiliency/Recovery Model) and successfully transition into adulthood; services address all identified transition needs in the domains of employment, educational opportunities, living situations, community life, medication, mental health, physical well being, drug and alcohol use, trauma, domestic violence, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.

Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)

Therapeutic Behavioral Services are intensive, individualized, one-to-one, short term outpatient treatment interventions for children/youth up to age 21 who experience serious emotional challenges, are experiencing a stressful transition or life crisis and need additional short-term specific services to accomplish outcomes specific in their individualized treatment plan. TBS can help children/youth and parents/caregivers, foster parents,
group home staff, and school staff or others to learn new ways of reducing and managing challenging behaviors as well as strategies and skills to increase the kinds of behavior that will allow children/youth to be successful in their current environment.
